Measuring life

So much of life is measured nowadays. Health metrics, number of friends, professional metrics. But what is really the point of is all? Maybe the answer is to ‘solve’ these problems and then stop measuring. Find out what foods keep you healthy, which exercise makes you feel vital, which people give you energy, and what work you find meaningful.

Then once you arrive at that destination just live in it. Feel exactly what that is like with all the metrics around you. Understand what it really means to have deep friendships, a healthy body, and purpose in your day to day work. Then just do away with it all. Live in the moment. Listen to your body and trust your gut.

Living in your body is rare and kind of a superpower. Try to understand when you are tired, ready to run, or in need of a pick me up. Don’t get addicted to things which perturb your internal state, or at least if you do, realise that you are addicted, and then make a judgement call on whether it is worth it. An addiction many people have is coffee/caffeine. And that’s ok, just realise you have it and try not to let it perturb who you really are on a permanent basis.

Is it just what people are calling “retardmaxxing” nowadays? Maybe the answer is just retradmaxx life, don’t measure, don’t analyse, just do, just be and just live.
